Kelowna is situated in south central British Columbia, Canada, on the shores of 90 mile long Okanagan Lake.
Kelowna is a commercial, manufacturing and tourist destination, located in a major fruit-growing and lumbering region. The city boasts many orchards and vineyards, as well as one of British Columbia's largest wineries. Kelowna is well served by the Kelowna International Airport and is a 4-5 hour drive via the Coquihalla Highway from Vancouver or a scenic Rocky Mountain day trip from Calgary via Hwy 1 and Hwy 97.
Kelowna is home to both Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan as well as many attractions including the British Columbia Orchard Industry Museum, the Kelowna Centennial Museum, the Wine Museum, and the Fintry Queen paddle wheeler cruises on Okanagan Lake.
Kelowna's many parks include City Park, which is the site of a children's water park and the annual Summer Kelowna Family Regatta, and Kasugai Gardens, a Japanese garden. Annual events include the Spring and Fall Okanagan Wine Festivals. Skyreach Place hosts numerous sports, cultural and music events.
The city's mild climate has attracted many retirees, who have increased the city's residential growth in recent years and is truly a Four Seasons playground with boating, fishing and camping all nearby. Add to this more than 40 golf courses and 4 major ski hills including our own Big White within a short distance and you can understand why so many tourists return to make Kelowna their home.
