Exterior
Keep yard carefully mowed, edged and fertilized during growing season
Keep snow and ice removed from sidewalks and steps in winter
Trim back bushes and trees from house and garage
Weed and maintain all planted areas
Keep porch, patio and sidewalks swept
Replace worn or badly stained door mats
Use a cleaner to remove oil stains from driveway and garage floor
Repair cracks in driveway, garage floor, sidewalk, patio and porch
Test all fences and gates - repair if needed
Move all garbage cans, extra building materials and supplies out of sight
Sweep out garage and keep it tidy
Make sure all door locks work properly
Clean and repair screens and screen doors
Make sure all exterior lighting is in working order
Check gutters and down spouts to make sure they are secure and cleaned out
Check roof and replace missing shingles
 

Interior
Make sure all walls are clean, unmarked and preferably freshly painted with neutral colors
Wash windows and window frames
Make sure all light fixtures are in working order and have fresh bulbs
Check all plumbing and make sure it is in good repair
Sinks and tubs should be clean and stain free
Caulk in tub and shower if needed
Make sure kitchen and bath are sparkling clean and counter tops are free of clutter
All drawers need to open and close easily
Clean all appliances and remove messages from the refrigerator
Shampoo soiled carpets
Remove all unnecessary objects and furniture to make rooms look as big as possible
Take down groups of pictures and repair walls
Clean oven, stove, dishwasher, and microwave
Clean out kitchen and bathroom cabinets, discard unnecessary items in cupboards and closets
Clean shower doors and walls, caulk as needed
Check all ceiling and walls for water spots, find origin and fix, repaint areas
Fix all wall and ceiling cracks
Clean exterior of water heater and furnace
Clean fireplace and hearth
