Sharon Black is a passionate member of the community and strives to give back whenever possible. Through COBSS (the Cental Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society), Sharon and her husband Gord have contributed to a bursary in honour of their son, the Captain Michael J. Black Memorial Award. In addition, Sharon is particularly concerned about the health and wellbeing of children and her charities of choice are the Children’s Miracle Network and the BC Children’s Hospital. Other areas in which Sharon is passionate about giving back include the Central Okanagan Food Bank COFB, Dress for Success and Proud for Prom. Additionally, Sharon is a member of 100 Women Who Care, donating often to a variety of charities within our community and is a Sponsor for the HHH, Hungry Hungry Half Marathon in support of COFB.
The BC Children’s Hospital is part of the Children’s Miracle Network and is also a preferred charity of Sharon Black. Sharon works to raise awareness for this incredible hospital, as well as to raise funds that will help get the support and equipment needed to save the lives of children throughout the province.
Please contact Sharon directly if you would like to learn more about any of these charities and how you can get involved.
